Chipping in for Children is a series of charitable golf tournaments, raising funds and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

Challenge:

To find a uniquely different way to fundraise for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN).  To bring together community partners interested in a golf fundraising effort, tie-into a local retailer for exposure and create an environment where national partners want to participate with their cause marketing funds. Walmart is one of the largest corporate partners of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals so it seemed a natural fit for the Chipping in for Children effort.

Solution:

Incorporating techniques employed in our Power of the Pink program, Cliffedge set out to build local ‘Walmart sized’ golf tournaments that raise significant dollars for regional Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. In-store activation, social media, and email campaigns support the cause. Local and National partners tie-into the program allowing them to give back to the community while enjoying a fun, unique event.

How Retail Marketing with Cliffedge creates impact for Walmart:
•    Cooperative fundraising effort between Cliffedge and Children’s Miracle Network.
•    Coordination of charity golf tournaments bringing together local community businesses, along with national partners like Walmart
•    Facilitation of charitable proceeds to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in each local area where the golf tournaments are held 

Results:

Since 2011, the Chipping in for Children golf tournaments have raised over $932,000 for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. 
Local businesses like Enterprise Car Sales and other community partners like Walmart benefit from the good-will partnerships in each market, and enjoy a day of golf “for the kids”.
