Chipping in for Children 2017

This year at the 7th annual Chipping in for Children charity golf tournament, teams representing 18 brands came to play golf, but stayed to support the kids.

On Monday, September 18, 2017 the picturesque Meadowbrook Country Club set the stage for this unique fundraising opportunity benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network of hospitals admirably serving children in the greater St. Louis area and beyond.

Efforts made by the Children’s Miracle Network to bring new resources to children and their families are the true inspiration behind this event. The “Miracle Families” represented this year included Brayden and Kennedy, two children accompanied by their mothers who all display an unbeatable bravery.

Key children’s hospitals are supported by the generosity of retailers Walmart and Sam’s Club, as well as through sponsored holes, sampling tents and teams from Enterprise, Anheuser-Busch, Prairie Farms, Mondelez and countless other community partners. The list includes St. Louis Children's Hospital, SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, MU Children’s Hospital in Columbia and HSHS St. Johns Children’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Walmart Regional General Manager, Lisa Cheek, attended, along with Executive Director of the Cardinal Glennon Foundation, Sandy Koller, St. Louis Children’s Hospital Executive Director, Malcolm Berry, and Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, Flip Becker. Each described the impact that programs like Chipping in for Children have on CMN Hospitals creating new programs and allocating new resources for families.

Chipping in for Children raised $100,000 this year alone, which when combined with the past six years, allowed us to surpass the $1 million mark! Through the participation of the retailers, sponsors and hospitals, this event garnered incredible awareness, support and attention for the cause of serving children in need. We look forward to discovering how this philanthropic endeavor impacts the children now and in the future.
